This one shot on Portra VC is, I think a great example of the the tonal range of this now defunct film. I love the reds and yellows right alongside the true white of Meredith’s wedding gown.

The allure of film isn’t limited to the amazing colour renditions of Portra, sometimes the stark, grainy, black and white contrast of T-Max 3200 can be fantastic. Especially when run through a range finder with a super fast 50mm F1.1 Lens.

Instant Photo of the Week

Shot on the peel apart Fuji 100 ASA type 100 film in a Polaroid 195. The only downside to shooting this type of film is not being able to do an emulsion transfer in the middle of the city while shooting a wedding!

This is why film rules. ┬áSome people think I’m nuts for still shooting film alongside digital at weddings. I do it for the aesthetic, this is a great example of that aesthetic.
